EU sanctions on Iran: The false dichotomy

The choices toward Iran are an either-or dichotomy. However, it is dangerous due to the alternatives that are of two extremes and unacceptable possibilities. The sanctions are portrayed to be the best option to halt the production of uranium at a far lesser cost than a military confrontation, but this is false. This faulty logic assumes that Iran will come to believe that the cost of the sanctions will outweigh the benefits of installing and building centrifuges. Afghan president to issue order on private security firms

The Afghan International community relies heavily on private security companies. Within 4 months all companies will be told to cease operations. It is said that binding rules and guidelines are employment by these private security companies are needed. The problems within the private security business have been around for years and that coordination is needed among the force. The NATO-led force had started looking into the issue last year and it is needed for all companies to be registered and put under government control. Read further at CNN.com
Millions of Pakistan children at risk of flood diseases consistent

The floods continue to cause chaos in southern Pakistan. They are said to be one of the worst disasters ever seen. Up to 3.5 million children in Pakistan are at high risk for deadly water-borne diseases, such as watery diarrhoes and dysentery. The water has been badly contaminated plus there is a shortage of water. The disease cholera has been estimated to affect six million people. The Pakistani Foreign Minster, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, is in fear that because of the growing desperation of the flood victims, this could all play into the hands of the extremists. He has said that troops have been sent to the southern parts of Punjab and the provinces of Sindh and Balochistan to make sure militants do not take advantage of this situation.
