Halal or not, we’d like to answer that question with a resounding “yes”.
Now that we know that it’s okay to laugh in the Middle East, let’s turn to some of the comedy available here in the good ol’ United States. Comedy Central is gearing up for a number of upcoming specials, including elan favorite Aziz Ansari’s first stand-up special alluringly entitled “Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening.” The show, recorded at Los Angeles’ Brentwood Theater, will feature Aziz seducing the audience with pillow talk on everything from Craigslist to thread counts to the provider of endless comedic fodder, R. Kelly.
Aziz currently stars on the NBC show Parks and Recreation, and also stars on our ”top 10 Twitter accounts for Muslims” list. And although we love a good @azizansari Twitter war (especially anything that involves the TV show Bones - “Know why they call it ‘Bones’?” “Cause it should be buried!"), we’re not quite sure what to make of this recent report that Aziz allegedly responded to a viewer’s less than flattering tweet about him with a defensive Facebook message. But true or false, we don’t care...as long as we get our intimate moments.
Check out a hilarious preview of the DVD above and hear Aziz take a strong, powerful stance on the ethics of bed-sheet sales. (Those of us who watched Conan last Friday night have already heard this, but it’s an important message nonetheless).
The Comedy Central special airs on Sunday, January 17th at 10 p.m., in case you’re bored with the Golden Globes that night. And the CD and DVD are available on January 19th. All the details are on Aziz’s website, azizisbored.com.

Aziz has become one of my favorite comedians; after watching his dvd I have been surfing the Internet looking for all kinds of interviews and clips to learn more about him and see more of his standup. I definitely recommend seeing him live and getting his dVD
