Christmas Mubarak!
Merry Christmas, Muslims!

Christmas is such a special time of year. The window displays on Fifth Avenue in New York City are bedecked with fake snow and elaborate arrangements of diamonds, dresses, and other things that make you say, “Recession who?” I personally love Christmas - the charitable spirit, the joy, the presents, the cookies, the singing, the family gathering, the neat wrapping paper, the beautiful trees...the cookies...the plush stockings...stuffed with cookies....

But of course, not all of us celebrate Christmas with fir trees, ornaments, eggnog, sitting our children on the laps of bearded men, and watching “A Christmas Story” and “It’s a Wonderful Life” back-to-back on TBS for all 12 days of Christmas. (I highly recommend the latter. Best Xmas ever)

If you’re Muslim and not celebrating Christmas the old-fashioned way, here are 10 things to do this Christmas day:

1. Make a really confused, politically-correct front lawn
With a huge Christmas, enormous Menorah, and a large brown goat, with “Eid Dinner” branded on his right loin.

2. MOVIE TIME!
The Oscars are right around the corner! Get a leg up on your predictions while your neighbors are stuck cooking Christmas dinner. I knew there was some advantage to this whole Muslim thing!

3. Commission Mos Def and Cat Stevens to do a holiday album
Lamb Shanks, and other Eid Delights, with such hits as “On the first day of Hajj, my true love gave to me,” and “Frosty the Himalayan Snow Yeti”.

4. Chinese Food
Maybe this is just a New York thing, but I believe Christmas is the busiest time of year for Pacific Wok and the like.

5. Play a prank on your favorite bearded relatives
by giving them a red suit and sending strangers’ children to go hop on their lap and ask for presents. Look kids! It’s Arab Santa!
(And look! All his elves have unibrows!)

6. Start a business of Islamic ornaments in Switzerland
Just a TON of minarets in all shapes and sizes...or did they ban those too?

7. Write your own holiday song
Come up with an Adam Sandler-esque version of the “Hannukah Song” for Christmas-Day Muslims, listing all prominent Muslims and their holiday fun activities.

8. Make your own film release of “A Christmas Carol,” starring Libya’s Gaddafi
As (who else?) Ebeneezer Scrooge. It’ll be a hit! (I should get residuals for this...)

9. Holiday shopping for all your friends and family
Not sure what to buy? See our Muslim Shopping List here.

10. Christmas is a time for family, giving and for forgiveness
So, Dear Mom and Dad, give me your AmEx and forgive me when you get the bill.

Merry Xmas, all!

Concerning Number 7, that’s been done. Yes, there is a “ramadan song” done by Iranian-american comedienne Tissa Hami.
