“Ground Zero Mosque”: The Best of The Daily Show
“Ground Zero Mosque”: The Best of The Daily Show

You know what occurred to me after this whole erroneously labeled and maliciously contrived “Ground Zero Mosque” controversy started gaining traction? Pretty much everyone in America hates us! It’s true! Well, not everyone. Thankfully, some of those people are Jon Stewart and his staff at The Daily Show.

Movie Review: Prince of Boredom
Movie Review: Prince of Boredom

Remember when Iranis protested the movie 300 because they found it antagonizing? Well, it seems to me that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is also part of a right wing conspiracy to defame and smear Iranis, but for completely different and far more pretentious reasons.

Lebanese Songwriter Romantically Tells Women To Make Him A Sandwich

The popular Lebanese singer Mohammad Iskandar recently released an Arabic song entitled “Jumhoriyet Albi” (The Republic of my Heart) in which he encourages women to not pursue careers or education in exchange for taking care of his “heart.” In Lebanon and Syria, many women took offense to the song’s lyrics and demanded its omission from the Syrian radio waves via street protests.

Amir Khan Crosses the Pond and Dominates

Amir Khan, a Muslim British native of Pakistani decent, has been a boxing sensation in the UK since 2004, but hadn’t boxed Stateside before Saturday. Good news, adolescent American Muslim boys - you have a new role model and he looks just like you except with a much better physique!

WTFatwa: Things Muslims Love - Forwarding Chain Emails
WTFatwa: Things Muslims Love - Forwarding Chain Emails

Muslims love many things, including forwarding junk emails to friends and family. They do it out of love and out of not understanding how the Internet works. How thoughtful!

Two Guys On the Internet (Sort Of) Threaten South Park

As you probably know, a few Muslims with an unpopular Islamic website quasi-threatened the creators of South Park and that, for some reason, made national news. The controversial episode depicts a man in a bear suit claiming to be the Prophet Muhammad only to be revealed as Santa Claus later on (a point that most people missed).

Waleed Aly: “Just Do Things”
Waleed Aly: “Just Do Things”

Waleed Aly is a well known Australian sports commentator, musician, political science lecturer, TV show co-host and published writer. When you list it all out like that he almost sounds like a proverbial renaissance man, a myth… except he’s real. I was first introduced to him through the Australian TV show he helped found, Salam Cafe which was eventually picked up by a national TV station. The popular Australian show involves Muslims having a round table style discussion leading into comedic clips regarding Australian Muslims. I would soon find out that that was only the tip of the Aly-iceberg. I recently had a chance to ask him a few questions and was presently surprised by his responses.

WTFatwa: April Fool’s, Jordan!
WTFatwa: April Fool’s, Jordan!

Last week, everyone in the world survived April Fool’s Day with their dignity intact, except Jordan. A Jordanian newspaper ran a front page story claiming that space aliens had landed in the city of Jafr, causing residents to flood the streets with panic, lock up their children, and above all, lose their minds. It’s no doubt hilarious and reminiscent of H.G. Well’s reading of War of the Worlds over the radio back in 1938. The jokesters involved with the hoax apologized for the inconveniences caused as they obviously only meant to entertain people.
